David Deakins Art Studio

The David Deakins Art Studio is at the bottom of the High Street in Dunster Village where a range of his paintings can be seen on display ready for sale.

David Deakins was born in 1944 and he spent many hours watching his father George Deakins painting while in his studio at his home and ship cabin when in Portsmouth. David attended the Royal Hospital School, Holbrook, after obtaining an M.Sc. in Marine Biology, David combined his career, teaching biology and painting for galleries and exhibitions.

David enjoys painting both seascapes and landscapes in bold and atmospheric colours – old sailing boats are his favourite subject, especially in rough seas.

He is associated with the Strand gallery in Brixham and the Whitby Galleries in Yorkshire, with his paintings have sold widely throughout the UK and have gone as far Alaska and Mexico.
