Castle Coffee House

Castle Coffee House in Dunster is a beautiful tea shop at the foot of medieval Dunster Castle serving speciality tea & coffee, homemade bakes and fresh doughnuts.

Opening a tea shop has been a dream come true for me. I grew up not far from Dunster and always hoped to move back one day and run my own business here, and now I have at Castle Coffee House!

Baking is my passion, all my cakes and bakes are prepared daily on site with the exception of my mum’s legendary baked cheesecakes and handmade caramels. At weekends, we serve freshly made doughnuts with a range of homemade fillings.

Many who knew the Castle Coffee House before I took it on, know that it’s had a bit of an update inside. I wanted to put my stamp on it but above all I wanted to retain the coffee shop’s inherent charm and character. I also wanted to fill it with beautiful pieces from local makers and artists so I was over the moon when Ashleigh Bishop agreed to hang a curated selection of art for sale inside. Each one of our unique and vintage tables is adorned with a beautiful handmade vase from Made in Dunster with dried flowers from Bloom Room Minehead.

We’re delighted to announce we’ll be adding our first weekly soup special to the Castle Coffee House menu! This week’s soup special is a delicious homemade broccoli and Stilton soup served with a tasty sourdough bread roll. It’s comfort food in a bowl – packed with flavour and hearty goodness – available 12-2pm every day, except Fridays.

We’re open from 10am to 5pm (same as every day except Fridays)

I’ve met some wonderful people and had some brilliant feedback so far – thank you to everyone from near and far who’s dropped in for coffee and cake.
